The Usher Audio S-520 Shielded Loudspeaker is a two-way bookshelf mini-monitor with extraordinary tonal balance and dynamics.

Not all small speakers are created equal, and the Usher S-520 is one of a rare breed of exceptional little monitors, offering excellent high end clarity and bass output that belies it's diminutive size.

Cabinets are made of MDF and have a beautiful gloss piano finish or real wood veneer in Birch (which looks similar to cherry). Speaker edges are beveled to give the S-520 very refined cosmetics.

Speaker terminals are solid brass, polypropylene woofers and silk dome tweeters complete what can only be described as a stuning little speaker.

Over a wide range of music, the Usher S-520 satisfied me during the many weeks it visited my system, and I found its modern cabinet attractive. The Usher S-520 is an excellent value with many strengths and negligible shortcomings.

The Ushers may not do everything as well as my speakers do, but I think nine out of ten listeners would prefer their sound overall - plus they make really usable bass. We all love an overachiever, and the S-520s are just that.
