G'day, I agree with WytRaven, wholeheartedly. The ATH-ES10 is amazing technology and the headphones are so comfortable and a perfect fit. Bought them from Wicked Digital yesterday, received them this morning, and I am rocking and rolling now.Bass, treble, soundstage ... AOK and vibrant and natural and mellow and sharp and CAPTIVATING. No doubt the sounds will get better as I burn-in the ES10 and I will follow WytRaven's recommendation. Thank you for that tip. Undoubtedly, one of the BEST headphones for the iPod. The 53mm drivers are brilliant. Hats off to Audio-Technica and to Wicked Digital. Sandman, Sydney :)

First let me say this. I am a hard sell. I don't think I have ever labeled anything I have bought of any kind as 5 stars in my life. These headphones are simply spectacular, an absolute feat of audio engineering. I could not recommend them any higher. First they are light and comfortable to wear. They are beautifully built and sit on my ears with a just enough pressure to ensure they don't fall off with sudden movements but not tight enough to cause discomfort. I wear glasses so this is important to me. The first time I dialed up some old school electro and came across a sub bass sweep I'll admit I let out a few expletives and took the Lord's name in vain multiple times; scared the hell out of my wife in the process. I still find it hard to believe that these diminutive little cans can produce such a stunning range without compromise. Alanis Morissette's Flavors of Entanglement album, which is beautifully mixed and mastered, just sounds divine through these phones, the detail is breath taking. Audio-Technica has managed to design a cup that leaks just the right amount to maintain a perfect pressure balance meaning that even with decent volume and extend listening time is not at all fatiguing. Important note: Straight out of the box these babies are stiff! You will likely be greeted by a very claustrophobic soundstage on first listen. However, do not fear. They just need some burn in time. Dial up a playlist of various genres (toss in some pink noise, frequency sweeps and a little silence for rest periods if you have it available) and loop that over night at a decent volume. In the morning there will be a huge difference and they will just keep getting better as time goes on. If there was a 6th star available I would have picked that too as these are a truly remarkable and versatile piece of kit. Worth every cent. These have permanently replaced my Shure SE530's and I won't be looking back. Tristan Ward
