Reviewers around the world all sing the praises of this hand built German amplifier, and they are unanimous in their opinion of this amplifiers tube like top end.

In 2009 the 6moons.com web site reviewed this amplifier, and said: "I do not write this often as I try to avoid such statements. But, the No.1.a will flawlessly nestle into a system whose ancillaries cost twice as much as itself. Because this really is one of the few amplifiers that sounds like twice (and more) expensive competing amplifiers, I fear such statements. They are overused by magazines all over the world. If we take them serious, it would mean that all products sound twice as good and there's no competition at all. That's simply untrue. So I shall put it another way. The Aaron easily surpasses the statistical means of components up to around 25000zl."

They went on to say: "...because this is an incredibly open, quick and dynamic sound. It's the best we can find in solid state as for example my Luxman but also in the E-550 Accuphase and EVO222+402 Krell regardless of how much the latter two differ from one another. And we find it here. Moreover -- and this is probably the crux of what I want to convey -- the Aaron subtracts nothing but still maintains the recorded timbres just as tube amplifiers do."

And finally: "Taking into account that this is a solid-state device, most surprising is the treble quality in general and regardless of price and technology. In the best sense of the word and not the stereotype, the German amplifier's treble is very tubey. Cymbals are relaxed but simultaneously well defined...The sound was very resolved, with incredible depth and scale but also terrifically balanced and -- I'll take the risk for saying so but have to at times -- with a slight warmth to the upper midrange."

If we all went off one review, then we could probably find a decent review of just about any product out there, but recently AVRev.com also reviewed this amplifier, and had this to say: "I could not pretend that what I heard with the No.1.a – right out of the box – was special...There was nothing cold or clinical about the No.1.a; rather, its sound has a warmth that's ear-friendly without mellowing the music or turning it mushy. I would describe it as slightly “tubey” but in the best sense of it and more like a hybrid (tube/transistor) amp than straight up solid state."

They then went on to say: "We reviewers often tend to anthropomorphize components, using phrases like “effortless performance” and the like, but the Aaron really does perform with a grace and ease that justifies such description. It's almost as if the amp isn't even there, just the music soaring through the atmosphere around you. Music is presented with dimensionality and “air” galore. Bass and midrange are substantial yet never muddy; the upper end is chiseled with a hint of tube-like warmth that I found beguiling. Just on the warm side of neutral, the No.1.a may not be everyone's cup of chai, but I found it to be one sweet drink. "

And finally: "Warmth, power, detail and strong across-the-board performance – you get it all with the Aaron No.1.a. First-rate sound is the icing on the cake of this solid state amp that has a touch of the tube personality. Everything on the amp, and the remote, worked quietly and smoothly. I heard no hum or other unwanted noise coming from the amp at any time – just expressive and acutely satisfying sound. Frank Zappa once said, “Without music to decorate it, time is just a bunch of boring production deadlines or dates by which bills must be paid.” I wish all my time could be “decorated” by music played through the Aaron No.1.a – deadlines, bills and all."

So there you go, plenty of praise for this rather understated German amplifier, so if you are in the market for a high-quality integrated amplifier, come on in for an audition.
