Featuring a precision analogue volume control, 4 digital inputs (2 coaxial, 2 Optical), 2 line level RCA inputs, a 3.5mm jack input for your Ipod/MP3 Player, true balanced (XLR) and line level (RCA) outputs, along with a high quality headphone output, it just about ticks all boxes for audiophiles.
The DAC section is based on a Wolfson chipset and handles 24bit/192kHz data rates. "Excellent digital clock recovery ensures signal integrity is maintained even with poorer quality digital sources and long cable runs between external sources and the CDA2."

Styling is in keeping with the companies entry level amplifiers, with it's beautifully machined 13mm aluminium front panel and large easy to use buttons, it simply oozes class. The pre-amp stage is in fact based on the CA2 pre-amplifier, which is redundant should you choose the CDA2 for your system, simply add the P1 Power Amplifier and you're good to go.
The CDA2 is an unusual offering and being a one-box solution it is not very 'audiophile' like however it may well find a place in many systems as a bridging product as we move away from the spinning silver disc to high resolution computer based playback. It certainly has the cred to achieve acceptance, time will tell.
